Hosting Move or Upgrade

Since Frog Productions created your web site it has been on a hosting service (legacy) that has been very good, secure and dependable.  The legacy hosting service has not upgraded to the newer technologies which include mobile friendly access, search engine friendliness, ease of changing and other client beneficial features.

For these reasons and those discussed below all Frog web sites hosted on the legacy hosting service are being moved to the NEW Frog Productions hosting system.  Effective April 1, 2017 the legacy hosting system will no longer be available.  As an legacy hosted client your site will either be moved as is with no charge or at your choice upgraded to a mobile friendly WordPress based site for a one-time fee of $300 as it is moved.

Below is a Summary of the web site functions and costing for Frog client web sites as of April 1, 2017.  All web sites will be moved to the NEW Frog Productions hosting.  The decision is yours to decide to upgrade your web site to the mobile friendly WordPress platform or to have your site will moved as is.

Why the Changes?

  1. The legacy hosted Web sites were created a few years ago using technology that is now obsolete causing changes to be time consuming and thus costly.  Changes cannot be made by the client.
  2. The legacy hosted sites are not mobile friendly—they do not re-size to fit the screen size (such as phones) and are thus being penalized in listings by the search engines (as of the April 21, 2015 announcement by Google which is now being implemented by Google and the other major search engines).
  3. More than half of the Frog legacy hosted clients have already opted to have Frog redo and update their websites to use the new Word Press, mobile friendly, search engine friendly, more secure and easy to update technology.
  4. For the reasons mentioned here, Frog is going to discontinue its use of the hosting service used by the remaining legacy sites as of April 1,2017 and will be using only the NEW Frog hosting service.
  5. The discontinuing of the legacy hosting service means that all web sites on this service will be moved as is to the NEW Frog hosting service without change (as is) and the hosting fee will remain the same.  These moved sites will still not be mobile friendly and will not be any easier to change.  There may be changes to your email.  Frog will work with you to make the changes needed.
  6. Alternatively, you can decide to have your web site updated to a NEW Frog WordPress web site, freshened up in appearance, and made mobile friendly for a one-time fee of $300 (the normal charge for doing this would be $700).  These websites would include five email accounts.  The hosting fee which includes access to the tools to change the web site would remain the same as they are now.
  7. Web sites that are not upgraded to a refreshed WordPress web site by April 1, 2017 will be moved as is and upgrading to the mobile friendly, easy to change WordPress format, should it be desired in the future, would cost $700 for a five-page site.
